Transparency Commitment: Every casino on The Gaming Lab is evaluated using the same standardized framework below. No exceptions — including platforms operated by our own team. We publish this methodology so you can verify our work.

Why a 5-Dimension System?

A single rating number doesn't tell you much. A casino can have lightning-fast payouts but a questionable license — or rock-solid regulation but terrible bonus terms. Our 5-dimension system breaks down what matters so you can judge for yourself.

Each dimension is scored 0–10 by our editorial team based on verifiable data, and weighted according to its impact on your real-world experience as a player.

The Five Dimensions

🛡️ D1: Licensing & Regulation — 20% weight

Your money's first line of defense. We verify every license claim directly with the regulator — not just what the casino says on its homepage.

ScoreWhat it means
9–10Tier-1 license (PAGCOR domestic, MGA, UKGC) with clean record and verifiable fund segregation
7–8Tier-1 license with minor regulatory notes or partial transparency gaps
5–6Tier-2 license (Curaçao eGaming, Kahnawake) with reasonable terms
3–4Claims to hold a license but we cannot verify it with the regulator
0–2No license or confirmed fraudulent license claims

Hard Cap Rule: Licensing issues limit the overall score regardless of other strengths. An unverifiable license caps the total at 7.0/10. No license caps it at 6.0/10. No amount of fast payouts or great games can override a licensing red flag.

💳 D2: Payment Experience — 25% weight

The highest-weighted dimension because it directly affects your money. We evaluate real withdrawal speeds, local payment method support, hidden fees, and KYC transparency.

ScoreWhat it means
9–10GCash/Maya integration + median cashout under 15 minutes + no hidden fees + transparent KYC
7–8Local payments available + cashout 15–30 minutes + reasonable KYC
5–6Limited payment options or cashout takes 30–60 minutes
3–4Cashout exceeds 1 hour or hidden fees discovered
0–2Multiple failed withdrawal reports or fund security concerns

🎮 D3: Game Ecosystem — 25% weight

Not just "how many games" but who makes them and can you verify they're fair. We check provider diversity, tier-1 studio coverage, and whether RNG audit results are publicly accessible.

ScoreWhat it means
9–105+ tier-1 providers + verifiable RNG audits + comprehensive game type coverage
7–83–4 tier-1 providers + good variety
5–6Mostly regional providers + missing some major studios
3–4Weak provider lineup + opaque RNG auditing
0–2Almost no recognizable providers + fairness concerns

🎁 D4: Bonus Fairness — 15% weight

A 200% welcome bonus means nothing if the wagering requirement is 60x with a 7-day expiry. We do the math so you don't have to.

ScoreWhat it means
9–10Wagering ≤25x + clear, transparent terms + no unreasonable restrictions
7–8Wagering 26–35x + mostly fair terms
5–6Wagering 36–45x + some player-unfriendly clauses
3–4Wagering 46–60x + opaque terms or hidden traps
0–2Wagering above 60x or clearly deceptive terms

🔒 D5: Player Protection — 15% weight

Deposit limits, self-exclusion, cool-off periods, session reminders, and links to external help organizations. In the Philippine market, most platforms score low here — that's not a penalty, it's an honest reflection of the current industry landscape. Platforms that do provide these tools earn significant differentiation.

ScoreWhat it means
9–10Full suite: deposit limits + self-exclusion + cool-off + session reminders + help links
7–83–4 tools available (well above PH market average)
5–61–2 functional tools (e.g., deposit limits or self-exclusion)
3–4Text disclaimers only, no functional tools (Philippine market norm)
0–2No responsible gambling statement or tools whatsoever

How We Calculate the Total Score

The overall TGL Rating is a weighted average of all five dimensions:

Total = (D1 × 20%) + (D2 × 25%) + (D3 × 25%) + (D4 × 15%) + (D5 × 15%)

If a dimension cannot be scored due to insufficient data, it is excluded from the calculation and the remaining weights are normalized. We clearly label when this happens.

Rating Labels

Score RangeLabelWhat it means for you
8.0–10.0✅ RecommendedStrong across all dimensions. Play with confidence.
6.0–7.9🔵 Acceptable with caveatsClear strengths but specific risks to watch. Read the review.
4.0–5.9🟠 Proceed with cautionSignificant risks. Only for players who fully understand the trade-offs.
0–3.9🔴 Not recommendedToo many red flags. We advise looking elsewhere.

What About Player Reviews?

The TGL Rating (the radar chart) is our editorial expert assessment based on verifiable data and standardized criteria. It is separate from the star rating you see at the top of each review, which blends our editorial score with real player ratings from our community.

We keep these two systems distinct on purpose: the editorial score ensures consistency and accountability, while player ratings capture real-world experiences that no checklist can fully measure.

Our Data Sources

Every score is backed by data from one or more of these source tiers:

TierSourceHow we use it
Tier 1TGL team hands-on testingDirect factual statements — "Our test confirmed..."
Tier 2Our player community (Telegram/Facebook)Cross-verified community reports
Tier 3Independent platforms (Reddit, Trustpilot, AskGamblers)Third-party verification — always cross-referenced
Tier 4The casino's own claimsQuoted with skepticism — "The platform claims..."

We never treat a casino's own marketing as fact. When only platform-provided data is available, we explicitly state this in the review and adjust our confidence language accordingly.

Editorial Independence & Disclosure Policy

Some members of our team provide professional services to platforms within the gaming industry. When we review a platform where a commercial relationship exists, a Disclosure block appears at the top of the article. The same 5-dimension scoring framework applies to every platform — no exceptions.
